Sponsorships for students from Tibetan institutes
of science and philosophy in India.


During the past year we have formed contacts with the following organizations:

College of Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah, Dharamsala, India (code=IBD)

The institute provides an education in Tibetan Philosophy to 300 students, providing the young people with the necessary skills to teach the Tibetan language as well. Many students have recently fled Tibet and the College finances their studies.

The sponsorship fee amounts to CHF 600.- (about € 360.- or US$ 490.-) per year.
Please remit the amount to our Sponsorship account in Switzerland and we will take care of the administration and forward the sum to the specified student or school with no deductions.

IBD

Men-Tsee-Khang, Tibetan Medical and Astro Institute, Dharamsala, India (code=MTK)

Men-Tsee-Khang was founded in 1961 for the preservation and practice of traditional Tibetan medicine and astrology and for educational purposes. It is run by the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) under the direction of H. H. the Dalai Lama. The course of studies in the field of medicine is quite challenging. It lasts 6 years (which include a final one year internship). Once their studies are terminated, the skilled doctors have the possibility to find work in several Tibetan clinics in India and Nepal

A sponsorship amounts to CHF 1340.- (about € 810.- or US$ 1080.-) per year. This amount covers the cost of education, food and lodging. You may transfer funds to our Sponsorship account in Switzerland and we will forward them to the selected institute or student with no deductions.
