Relief for newly arrived children (India)

Newcomer

Just arrived . . . . .

Still today between 200 to 300 children and young adults flee Tibet yearly, crossing the snowy passes of the Himalayas to reach Nepal, where, after three days stay of clarification on the part of the High Commission for Refugees, they are sent on to India. Where should these boys and girls be housed? Where should they go to school? Who will pay for all of this?
Tibetan Children's Village has tackled the problem and organizes preliminary care, provides accommodations and schooling and has created a fund for these emergencies. Any amount is appreciated.

any amount is welcome

TCV Scholarship Fund (India)

Future scholarship receivers?

Looking ahead . . . . .

There are about 1'500 students under TCV's scholarship program, of which 440 students are without a sponsor. TCV are spending an average of Rs. 35'000 (CHF 1'000) annually for those students having no sponsor. This makes a sum of at least CHF 440'000, which lead to huge financial problems for TCV. Therefore every help is highly appreciated.

any amount is welcome, but a sum of CHF 1'000.- would be wonderful

CTRC00

Poverty Alleviation Scheme (India)

Jampaling

Without words . . . . .

In accordance with Tibetan culture, children are taking care of their parents when they come on age. But, as resources are many times limited, or family is absent, a lot of elderly are living alone and in poor condition.
TIBETFREUNDE's sponsorship scheme could mediate in about 200 sponsorships for those elderly till now. But many are still on the waiting list.
For provisional help, CTRC established the "Poverty Alleviation Fund". Aim of CTRC's scheme is to provide provisionally monthly allowances for emergency cases - elderly people who are infirm and can not make their living amymore - for whom no sponsor could be found yet.

Protect Cave-Wall-Paintings (Western Tibet)

Verletzte Buddha

Tibetan Delek Hospital, Dharamsala (India)

Delek

Despite numerous financial challenges that the hospital has encountered over the years, Delek hospital, from its inception in 1971 on, has so far succeeded in providing primary health care services to both Tibetan and local Indian communities in Dharamsala, the headquarters of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, and the residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The services provided include pre and post natal care, immunisation, health education, general practice, eye care, TB clinic and torture victim clinic.
This has all been made possible by the continuous financial support that they have received from many individual donors, non-governmental organizations and governments. However, the future sustainability of Delek 's work as an institution remains uncertain and financial vulnerability calls for serious attention.
Therefore new sponsors are terribly needed.
Apart from financial support for the present, they feel a strong need to create a Corpus Fund for the long-term stability and smooth running of the hospital.
